This Privacy Policy explains how awaik collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Trading Journl mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
- Information We Process
We do not ask you to fill out separate sign-up forms to collect additional personal information. However, the Service uses third-party providers and infrastructure that may process certain data:
A. Account & Authentication (Firebase Authentication)
When you sign in using Google/Apple/custom login, we may process: • Unique user identifier (Firebase UID) • Provider account identifiers • Email address (if provided by Google/Apple or used by custom login) • Name and profile photo (only if provided by the provider and enabled)
B. Service Data Stored in Cloud Database (MongoDB Cloud)
To provide your experience (e.g., quiz progress), we store: • Quiz progress, scores, answers, learning history, and related in-app records • App preferences/settings (if applicable) • Internal identifiers linking your records to your account (e.g., Firebase UID)
C. Automatically Collected Data (Analytics, Ads, Diagnostics)
We may process certain device and usage data automatically, including: • Device information (model, OS version), app version, language/region • Usage events (feature interactions, session data) • Crash/diagnostic information • Advertising information (ad impressions/clicks, ad attribution) • Advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID; iOS IDFA only if permitted by your device settings and/or consent, where applicable)
- How We Use Information
We use information to: 1. Provide authentication and account access 2. Provide core features and save your progress (cloud sync) 3. Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues 4. Analyze usage to improve the Service (Google Analytics) 5. Show ads and measure ad performance (Google AdMob) 6. Respond to support inquiries (email)
Marketing emails: We do not currently send marketing emails. If we add marketing communications later, we will provide appropriate controls (e.g., opt-out/unsubscribe).
- Legal Bases (EEA/UK and Similar Regions)
If you are in the EEA/UK (or regions with similar rules), we rely on: • Contract: to provide the Service and save your progress • Legitimate interests: to improve and secure the Service (balanced against your rights) • Consent: where required for certain analytics/advertising features (e.g., iOS tracking permission/ATT, personalized ads in some jurisdictions)
- Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information: • With service providers that help us operate the Service: • Google (Firebase Authentication, Google Analytics, AdMob) • MongoDB (cloud database hosting) • If required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service • In connection with a business transfer (merger/acquisition), with appropriate safeguards
- International Data Transfers
Because we use global cloud providers, your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We use reputable providers and take steps designed to protect information consistent with applicable law (e.g., contractual safeguards where required).
- Data Retention
We keep information only as long as necessary: • Account & service records: retained until you delete your account (or as otherwise required for legal/security reasons) • Analytics/diagnostics/ad data: retained according to provider settings and policies, or until no longer needed for the purposes above
- Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as: • Access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EEA/UK)
Account Deletion
You can delete your account using the in-app “Delete Account” button. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify associated personal information and saved progress unless we must keep certain data for legal obligations, security, or fraud prevention.
Advertising Controls • Android: reset/limit advertising ID via device settings • iOS: manage tracking permission (ATT) and ad-related settings via device settings
- Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent is required by applicable law (e.g., under 13 in the U.S.). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
- Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
- Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by appropriate means (e.g., in-app notice).
