The Trading Journl blog aims to help individual traders understand trading concepts and the reasons behind a trade, and to record and review their own trades. This page explains who writes the posts, how they are made and checked, and how errors are corrected. It applies from October 26, 2026, and posts published before then are re-checked against the same standard whenever they are revised.

Author

Posts on the blog are written by the Trading Journl editor with the help of AI tools, and some are written or revised by the editor directly. The editor builds and operates the Trading Journl trading journal service at awaik, the company that runs Trading Journl, and plans, reviews and publishes every post. Send feedback or error reports to [email protected] or through the contact page.

How Posts Are Made

StepWhat happens
TopicWe pick concepts that matter for recording and reviewing trades, or topics with verifiable material such as filings and earnings.
ResearchWe look for primary material first: the original author's books and papers, exchange and regulator publications, and original filings.
DraftingAI tools assist with organizing research and drafting. Some drafts are written by the editor directly.
Fact checkBefore publishing, every number, quotation and source link is checked against the original, and table and chart values are recomputed from the underlying data. Anything we cannot verify is removed or marked as unverified.
Editing and publishingThe editor edits the post, gives it a final review and publishes it.

AI tools help with research and drafting. What goes into a post and what it concludes is decided by the editor, after the checks above.

Sourcing

  • We prefer original books and papers, exchange and regulator publications (for example the SEC and FINRA in the US), and company filings.
  • Strong claims and numbers carry a source link close to the claim, and posts that cite sources collect them in a References section at the end.
  • We do not rely on material with an unclear origin or on pages that repackage other articles.

Data and Charts

  • Price charts in posts are built from actual daily price data. US symbols use Alpaca market data, and Korean symbols use the Financial Services Commission's stock price data on Korea's Public Data Portal, sourced from the Korea Exchange.
  • 13F holdings come from the original filings submitted to SEC EDGAR.
  • When a post computes indicator values itself, it states the calculation basis, such as the period, the method and the reference date.

Images

  • Concept illustrations in the body are made with AI image generation tools and contain no text, to avoid typos.
  • Real photographs are used only under licenses that allow commercial reuse (public domain, CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA), with the author, license and source credited under the photo.

Investment Information

  • Posts are for education and information and are not investment advice. They do not recommend buying or selling any security, and they do not promise returns.
  • Account and trade examples are hypothetical and only show how a calculation works. When a post uses real prices, it states the dates and the data source.
  • Final investment decisions and their outcomes are the reader's own responsibility.

Trading Journl Features

Every post ends with a note about Trading Journl. When a feature is directly related to the post, such as 13F filings or a calculator, the note links to it; otherwise it links to starting a trading journal. The note does not change a post's analysis or conclusions. Posts that compare Trading Journl with other services say so in the text.

Corrections and Updates

  • If you find an error, tell us at [email protected] or through the contact page. Confirmed errors are corrected in the post.
  • When a correction changes a number or a conclusion, the post shows an updated date at the top.
  • Posts where timing matters, such as filings and prices, state their reference date in the text so readers can tell which point in time a value describes.
